Mickey Apodaca       On April 11, 1984, this 28-year-old woman went to Dr. Raymond Showery’s El Paso office for an abortion. She was 19 weeks pregnant at the time. Her uterus and a uterine artery were perforated during the abortion procedure, and despite hospitalization and subsequent surgery, she died that evening. Mickey left behind four children between the ages of one and ten.
